Description
This laminated double-sided fingering card gives students a quick and easy way to learn and reference the fingerings of all of the most standard scales and arpeggios. This eliminates the need to write fingerings in students’ notebooks or especially the need for students to buy scale and arpeggio books. Students should be able to use whole-step/half-step (or tone/semitone) patterns – and/or key signatures – to figure out scales on their own. Scale and arpeggio books get in the way of this important analytical practice.
Differing colors show fingerings that are the same from one scale/arpeggio to another. It shows hands-together fingerings in the simplest and most compact possible way for all of the following hands-together parallel scales and arpeggios:
- all 48 major/minor scales (colored outlines around each scale also classify scales into one of three scale groups)
- all 24 major/minor arpeggios
- all 12 dominant 7th arpeggios
- all 7 ways to play the 3 diminished 7th arpeggios
- three fingerings for the chromatic scale
- two fingerings for chromatic minor thirds
Features:
- Great for evaluations and auditions, or for day-to-day use by students during normal practicing.
- The front of the card also includes instructions for late beginners to be able to quickly play 4-octave hands-together scales.
- Before laminating, the paper is trimmed down to 7-7/8″ x 10-1/4″.
- Can be used as a large bookmark – laminated margins are cut down to 1/8″, so the final is slightly smaller than 8.5×11 (8-1/4″ x 10-5/8″).
- Laminated with 5mil thickness – very sturdy, so cards still look brand new after years of use.
- The laminated corners are rounded.
